Fang Yili is a China-born, Los Angeles–based visual storyteller and the founder of Fang Fang Comics, an independent creative studio dedicated to cinematic, emotionally driven narratives.

With over 17 years of experience, her work bridges Eastern and Western visual traditions—combining the expressive language of Japanese manga with the compositional depth of European comics. Her storytelling explores themes of identity, desire, and hidden systems, often set within dark, atmospheric worlds where beauty and unease coexist.

Under Fang Fang Comics, she has developed multiple original IPs, including ButterflyTears, Beauty, and Lineage. Each series represents a distinct narrative direction:

• ButterflyTears explores fragility, transformation, and emotional loss through poetic and symbolic imagery

• Beauty examines desire, perception, and the cost of perfection within visually seductive yet unsettling worlds
